Russian President says Start Treaty possible by December
I think a new start treaty is important. So I wanted to follow the stream of communication precipitated by the Russian president's statement. The first news reports referenced in the micro messages was from Reuters. According to the report Obama and Medvedev met in New York, at the UN meeting, and discussed this. And Medvedev said it would be possible to do it by December in the speech he made at the UN general assembly meeting.
I ran into it about 5:00 p.m. September 23, 2009, and decided to follow the stream. The first archivist search found 42 micro messages containing 'start treaty.' By 8:30 p.m. the number had risen to 45. Apparently there are not many people who think this is worth communicating about.
But I am going to stick it out and see if anything develops.
There is reference to this in the stream about missile shield -- though their attention is on Russia saying some sanction of Iran's nuclear program may be justified. Apparently, start treaties are not important to them -- or not yet.
